Irene Fernández Alcain

Irene Fernández, born in Irún and resident in Lanzarote since 2016, is a self-taught artist with a passion for oil painting. Since her childhood, she showed interest in art and attended drawing classes during her school years. However, her true vocation lies in oil painting.

Specialising in marine painting and figurative portraiture, Irene excels in her ability to work with oil technique and textures. Her focus is especially on light when portraying figures, seeking to capture the emotions, strength and femininity of women.

Through her works, Irene Fernández explores the richness of facial and body expressions, trying to convey the essence of her subjects. Her dedication to marine painting suggests a deep connection with the coastal environment, while her skill in figurative portraiture reflects a commitment to exploring the emotional complexity of women.
