Carmen Espinosa Soto
“I move away from solitude to find the way with my hands”
Carmen Espinosa starts from her search for open spaces, where she finds tranquility and stillness. She creates scenes of lines, planes and also of people, meeting spaces where the moment seems to freeze, and the viewer expects something to happen. They are static scenes but they provoke the necessity of the event.
Silent and introverted she found the opportunity to express herself with integrity through art.
Self-taught in her initial stage, and yearning to perfect in different pictorial techniques, she attended classes with professionals such as Elvira Gutierrez, Consuelo Chacon and Julia Rueda.
Once immersed in her learning, sculpture caught her attention, molding clay connected her to an even deeper, if possible, level.
Among her teachers are Ana Olano and Amparo Martin
