Maite Perdices
I feel that my duty as an artist is to make the “invisible visible”. This thought invites me to travel through the mind, in order to explore the “wounds” and “scars” generated by contemporary society. “Geishas” as a thread running through the work. The Japanese gaze converges with the Western one, my desire is to look beyond the obvious, to stop and do something new and investigate in order to have an ongoing conversation with the past. It is a work of self-knowledge and knowledge through the pain of others.
