Ildefonso Aguilar uses painting as the main axis of his expression, around which other means of expression are developed such as music, photography, installation and intervention in the natural space. His work is closely related to the landscape and nature of the island of Lanzarote, on which he was formed and where he has always lived and, more recently, to that of Iceland. Naked, austere landscapes of great strength and plastic beauty, which serve as a fundamental basis for the development of his work. In his interpretation he abstracts the essential, synthesises it and sublimates it. In his pictorial technique he mainly uses, apart from other materials, natural sands from the island itself, which give the work textures and nuances that are difficult to obtain with other media.
